Rugby movements and dance - Pontio
Dance and movement for non-specialists, session based on the physical vocabulary of Rugby.
Led by a National Dance Company Wales’ Dance Ambassador this morning workshop for teachers is an introduction to movement and physical knowledge of the body. It is targeted at non specialist teachers who want to develop the confidence to deliver dance education.
This session will be based on the physical vocabulary of Rugby. Rygbi: Yma / Here is a new piece of dance created by the Artistic Director of National Dance Company Wales, Fearghus Ó Conchúir. Rygbi: Yma / Here is uplifting full of hope, glory and camaraderie. It celebrates the pride and passion that rugby players and fans experience together.
The workshop is suitable for teachers at Key Stage, 2, 3 and 4
The workshop will be delivered bilingually by NDCWales Dance Ambassador Angharad Harrop
The workshop is free of charge for teachers and EDAU offers a contribution towards staff cover costs.
- The workshop is targeted at teachers who may feel daunted by the prospect of delivering dance education.
- After the workshop educators will be able to access a range of physical and digital supporting resources to continue delivering dance in their own schools
- Participants will be supported to create short films with their students which can then be displayed at venues prior to NDCWales performances as well as online.
- Participants will be able to access a special reduced-price ticket offer for performances of the NDCWales KIN tour in Spring 2020. Arts Council Wales Go and See applications will also be supported.
